DSL Issues

Well it would appear a string of faulty routers may be the problem.

It’s a little hard to accept as an engineer but I have 3 x DG 834 netgear routers here all of which drop the line repeatedly.

Router 1 was disconnecting a while ago and I had a different model (but still the 834) on the shelf and that seemed to stop the problem.

When it happened again I got another from a friend and that immediately showed the same issues. Naturally this made me believe it was a line issue.

After a week my line speed had dropped from 5600 to 2880kbps.

I’ve replaced them with a new Netgear N300 and so far it hasnt had a single disconnect in 4 days. Hopefully the speed will recover when BT get round to it. That said the engineer in me still isnt convinced there isnt a line fault
